Yes my scars are growing outside original boundaries. For example; My scars were approx. 1/10 of an inch wide, and now they are 1/4 of an inch wide. I have used scar away before. I prefer NewGel. They tend to hold up a little better, and they are thicker.

Hi Stacy, I don’t know anything about that particular combination. I guess I would personally choose to do one treatment at a time. Do your scars grow outside of the original boundaries of the wound? And which brand of silicone sheets do you use?

Hi Beas, I was wondering if you have done any studies on using steriod shots in conjunction with v-beam laser treatments? I have been using silicone sheeting. My scars are 5 months old, still red, and sometimes itchy. They appear to be getting thicker despite my near 24 hour use of the sheeting.

Hi AS, scar tissue usually doesn’t contain hair follicles. That’s why hair doesn’t grow on most scars. I suspect the hair surrounding the scar to grow back since it does so even after been plucked. But I am not completely sure about it. I hope your eyebrow will heal well.

Hello, I have a scar on my eyebrow and I put lemon juice on there overnight and it peeled the skin off. It has been 3 weeks and the skin has healed but the hair has not grown back. Will the hair grow back where the skin has peeled off please?

Hi there Andres, good to hear the sheets helped flatten the scar. If I’m correct your scar is a few months old right? In that case it’s totally normal it’s still red. The cause of the redness is the creation of extra blood vessels and an increased blood flow. I can imagine you want it to fade asap but I am convinced it will in time. Most commonly scar redness will fade at 7 months but that, of course, is no guarantee. I know you’re doing all you can. Keep on applying the Kelo-cote, the sheets in addition, and maybe now and then use a hydrating ointment such as Vaseline or a cream of your liking. Apart from being patient and having faith in the fact that it will improve in time you can’t do more. Good luck Andres, if you have more questions you know where to find me.

hey beas, i have been reading your articles for the past weeks.. im fighting my ugly scar below my eyebrow.. near the eye… and the redness wont’ seem to go away.. any tips? i have tried mederma, kelo-cote, silicone gel sheets.
the silicone gel sheets helped me a lot with the uneven skin but the redness is horribly noticeable… i feel like blood is about to come out….!
any tips?
